Challenge

Whilst Turk Telekom was offering its customers a successful hosted managed services solution, the operator was aware that as the scale and complexity of customer requirements increased, NOC overheads were becoming difficult to contain. Turk Telekom wanted to be able to devolve administration to customers, to reduce the pressure on the NOC team and the cost to the business.

Solution

Turk Telekom selected Cisco HUCS, a comprehensive converged IP communications system, which is powered by VOSS collaboration fulfillment management technology. VOSS is specifically designed for the delivery of managed collaboration services to large scale, multiple customers, addressing Turk Telekom's desire to scale the network, whilst maintaining control over operational expenditure. The whole solution was purchased through the Cisco pricelist, as at the time VOSS was a Cisco SolutionsPlus partner. (VOSS is now a Cisco OEM partner, so the VOSS technology is embedded in all of Cisco's collaboration architectures).

Benefits

Once deployed, Turk Telekom was able to service its customer base from an entirely new multi-tenant platform. The platform has a centralized management console that provides a single pane of glass view of all customers. Turk Telekom benefits from VOSS's advanced devolved administration capabilities, reducing the amount of NOC resources required to administer each customer, and decreasing operational expenditure.
