Organizations face the challenge that not only do their employees now use multiple devices with multiple UC applications inter-working across devices (e.g. fixed mobile integration and single number reach), but in addition, they also now want allow their employees to bring their own devices into the workplace.
The bring your own device (BYOD) model has significant capital advantages to the organization, but it creates a number of challenges for companies, including:
- Real-time security – without the need to download an agent onto the device ahead of time
- Device authentication vs user authentication
- Linking BYO device to other collaboration services and devices, as though it were an enterprise device
