When customers try to operate in a multi-cluster environment, they face several business communication challenges with a traditional CUCM architecture. Many of these business drivers can only be addressed with a fully integrated unified communications service delivery and management platform:

  • Traditional CUCM architectures cannot scale to large multi-cluster deployments and remain manageable.  The cost to manage a large scale CUCM architecture become cost prohibitive
  • Administration and service management have to be performed by highly trained engineers and this will become economically unviable as new services are added or as the business scales
  • It can take days to complete a change request and the time lapse is simply unacceptable in the current competitive climate which requires instant response at the desk top
  • It becomes increasingly complex to deliver applications such as advanced collaboration, mobility, presence and fixed-to-mobile integration on top of traditional CUCM, other than for single clusters
  • End customers are already demanding services that are difficult to deliver using large scale CUCM architectures
