Cisco Live – What a Week!
Adam Furman, Sales Engineer, VOSS
It’s always such a buzz going to Cisco Live. When 28,000 people gather in a single venue, it’s got to be a big deal. And, with this many people pouring into the San Diego convention center to hear the latest news and developments from Cisco on their product portfolio and roadmap, to learn more from Cisco partners, and to be entertained by none other than the FOO FIGHTERS, the event was bound to live up to expectations.
This year, we were fortunate enough to be one of 20-or-so Cisco partners exhibiting in the Collaboration Pavilion. This is a great space – and came with an opportunity to share our vision with Cisco users in the Collaboration Pavilion Presentation Theater. Our VP Global Services, Rob Moore, took to the stage to talk about how to “Supercharge Your Business with Smarter Collaboration Integration”. The session was well-attended and resulted in some very interesting discussions on how VOSS can help organizations to integrate billing and third-party systems into their collaboration platforms.
Overall, traffic to our booth was extremely busy. Not least because of the sought-after rubik’s cubes that we were giving away! However, we were impressed by the relevancy of the conversations at our booth this year – many visitors had come to us specifically to learn more about UC management and how VOSS can help to save time and budget by introducing automation into the UC lifecycle.
VOSS has a long and strong relationship with the Cisco HCS Service Providers community, and it was fantastic to see many of our customers at the show. In light of the recent Cisco announcement regarding CUCDM end of life, we were delighted to hear many success stories from HCS partners who have transitioned from CUCDM to VOSS-4-UC to unlock some major new benefits and features.
However, the lion’s share of booth traffic was from the enterprise space, with visitors keen to understand how to take their UC infrastructure to the next level, either by embracing a fully cloud model, or a hybrid cloud/on-prem model. In both cases, VOSS can provide UC management that automates workflows and business processes, to improve corporate communications and fuel business growth.
2019 was Cisco’s 30th anniversary for Cisco Live and (…remember this?) Networkers, and overall impressions are that Cisco continues to dominate the market in a very positive way, while adapting nimbly to changes in the market. We had a blast in San Diego and we will certainly be back at Cisco Live in 2020!
