Viva Cisco Live Barcelona!

What a week that was! Almost 20,000 people descended on Barcelona for Cisco Live EMEA and I’m sure that if you didn’t attend yourself, then somebody connected with your organisation certainly did. This year’s show had it all; with keynotes from Mr Jetman himself, Gravity’s Richard Browning, and the infamous Lego wall and structures (how good was the Eiffel Tower?!), with bike building, stretch table-football, progressive jazz, and a sensory multimedia rainfall experience to boot.

The VOSS stand was located in the vast World of Solutions hall, and, with over 130 exhibitors packed into the same space, it was every bit as busy as you’d expect. Our visitor numbers were consistently high—the prospect of a free reusable coffee mug proving too hard to resist for many! We met with a broad spectrum of people, from those wanting to find out more about UC Management and how VOSS can deliver that, to familiar faces keen to know what new VOSS has to offer, such as enhanced onboarding solutions using the sophisticated migration toolset M2UC, and UC estate monitoring with VOSS Assurance.

A number of VOSS customers from the EMEA region were exhibiting at the show, and it’s always good to know that they are promoting services that are powered by VOSS. Despite it being a Cisco show however, there was a lot of interest in hybrid services that VOSS is at the forefront of, such as being able to deliver Microsoft Direct Routing into Cisco HCS solutions and provide migration, management and monitoring for the whole solution.

With so many visitors and opportunities to discuss Cisco UC solutions and our unique take on management and assurance, we’ll certainly be there for the next Cisco Live EMEA, to be hosted in Amsterdam next February. By the way, did you know that over 12 tons of oranges were needed to make fresh juice for everyone over the course of the week, and that over 60 terabytes of internet traffic was generated? You’d need some pretty good kit and engineers to manage all of that; I think we’re in safe hands.
